Hopefully we can still add something new to this debate with our expertise. Living in Canada, especially "British" Columbia, we tend to see the spelling "mould" just as much or if not more than we see the spelling "mold." That's because the British spelling for naming this fungus is "mould." Just like how Americans spell "ax" we still spell "axe." When deciding the name of our company we wanted to be conventional here in Victoria BC because we're relatively new to an established industry, and we wanted to use the spelling "mould." However, we still use the American spelling a lot of the time because we respect other people's choice to spell it that way and it also makes it clear exactly what services we provide.

Some people find that this divide in the way to spell this fungus is an annoying hassle, just like how different countries use different measurement systems. But we appreciate the culture and history between these differences and don't find it much of a bother to work around the divide. We don't even really think of it as a divide. My colleagues all agree we're so used to typing "center" but meaning "centre." It makes life more interesting having these differences.
